Last week I had my very first art show at Stripe MEN and it was fabulous. Thank you to everyone that came out to show their support. The place was packed for over three hours and the store had the most sales on a first Friday event! Here are some pictures. Below is the store as seen from the front entrance.
Following are pictures of the my art on the walls. It fit in perfectly to their decor.
Come join me on December 4th at stripe Men and see my hex sign series ‘Abundance.’ The ‘Abundance’ series was painted with the intention of creating a sense of plenty in the home where it is hung. Each hex sign features an eight-pointed star on a 15” x 15” fence board. Slight variations in the wood’s character reveal upcycled origins, with designs painted with acrylic and a polymer varnish used as a sealant. Some of the works also contain collaged paper.
If you like the signs and can’t make it to the show, you can buy them in my etsy store.
It’s been a fantastic week, lots happening in happy valley. The garden is in now. We’re having a drought, so it will be interesting to see how I can water less, but still have a small garden.
Also, got news last week that my hex sign art was chosen to be featured at a local store called Stripe Men. It’s an awesome store in downtown Santa Cruz right off Pacific Ave for men decorated in mid century furniture and vintage items. They provide an inspirational playground for customers to find products from some of the best local talent, like me 😉 The art show is on Friday, December 4 from 5-9 PM and the art will be on display and for sale through out December. Super EXCITING. Everyone is invited.
Lastly, I am super stoked to be featured a couple weeks ago on a blog called a Daily Dose of Pattern. Check out may pattern and if you like patterns, check out Esther Bley’s patterns. She does some really lovely work.
