I’ve been learning to sew this afternoon. So excited that I’ve been able to thread the bobbin. Here is the sewing machine my friend Tami let me borrow.
I’ve made some campy bookmarks. I took some of my paint chips…
…got out some scraps of fabric and added some cardboard for stiffness.
Here they are, CAMPY bookmarks!
I love the pattern.
If you would like one, check out my etsy store, Pippin Lane, and come back here to my blog. Leave a comment on what you liked in the store; and I’ll mail you a CAMPY bookmark. Oh, leave your email so, I can contact you for your address.
It’s going to be a fabulous, four day weekend. With friends visiting, sidewalk sales including the semi annual Patagonia sale, lovely weather and family. Santa Cruz has had a FABULOUS spring. I think it’s the best time of year to be here.
Here’s what I’ve been up to in the last week…
I’ve been perfecting my pancake recipe. I think it’s gotten pretty good.
I’ve also put my designs on three small, pocket notebooks. I had them printed through Zazzle. I liked the quality, but they weren’t inexpensive, which means I can’t resell. I also have been looking at putting some of my art on Society 6. I’ve heard that folks don’t really make that much money and that they’ve actually had their designs stolen. What do you think of the notebooks?
We’re heading on vacation in the next week, so I’ll post pictures of of adventures. Have a great week!
The most exciting thing this week is my new Fiskars punch that creates cute hearts. I’m excited to use it for creating valentines day crafts and looking forward to getting out the glue gun and creating heart treats to leave behind in unexpected places. Love leaving hearts in library books, video rentals, and on coworkers desks.
In addition to the excitement about my Fiskars, I just bought a new vw golf tdi at Capitol Volkswagen, which I’m calling the Nan mobile. Super excited. For those of you who don’t know me or my story, I’ve been sharing a prius for the past ten years with my partner. I’m lovin the sunroof and the manual gears. This Nan mobile will allow us more flexibility as our schedules change.
Lastly, I recently finished a art design class at Cabrillo with the wonderful Pantea Karimi. We studied color and basic design. It was loads of fun and really inspiring. Here are some samples of my work.
Have a great week!
