knitting

It’s been a chilly summer here so far. What happens is that it gets really hot in San Jose and the fog gets drawn in and covers Santa Cruz in a wet haze. It usually burns off in the afternoon, but it can be down right chilly at 54 degrees in the mornings.

So, what does a girl do when she is chilly, well she knits. I’ve knitted several washcloths, practicing different stitches. They turned out pretty cute.

I also made a cowl for this fall. I used Spincycle yarns. I love their wool! Here it is pre-wash. I used two different colors and they blended so nicely.

knitting and woolly tattoos

A couple weeks ago I shared the hat that I was knitting a hat in this blog post. The Tilly hat pattern is by Rachel Price and Kate Burge for Spincycle Yarns. Well, last week Dottie Angel shared with us how to woolly tattoo them. I love embroidery and this was so fun. Check out the hat now.

I’ve even started woolly tattooing my washcloths.

knitting and hats

Created this fun and easy hat this week. It’s called the Tilly hat. The pattern is by Rachel Price and Kate Burge for Spincycle Yarns. The yarn was really nice to knit. Here is a picture of it unblocked. I loved the cloche that you cinch up on one side.

Once I knit and blocked, we got to wooly tattoo it. I picked these left overs to tattoo.
